Varsity Cross Country at MSA Meet #2

Cougar Athletics, Cross Country

On Thursday 9/15, our Cougars Cross Country Team did an amazing job at the second meet hosted by Mill Springs Academy this season! We had good racing conditions – cool temperatures and a breeze, with light rain clearing up just before the races. Madison Clark led the Varsity Girls Team coming in 2nd place with a time of 23:48, more than a minute faster than her last time on this course. Mary-Addison Burch ran a strong race finishing at 32:42, also improving from her last time here. Both girls’ hard work and devotion at their practices really showed at this race!

The Varsity Boys Team helped push each other on the 5k course, bringing out some of their best times this season. William McGuire ran a steady and smart race, kicking it in at the end and running a PR at a time of 20:59. He was followed by Ryan Gaffneystone who soared to the finish at 21:59. Noah Velasco ran his best time so far this season finishing at 22:28 improving on his last time on this course by a little over two minutes. Max Rusert ran to the finish and somersaulted across the finish mat, coming in at 23:00. This was a new PR for Max and around two minutes faster than his last race. Jonah Lorman ran strong finishing at 26:38 and beating his goal and Eric Born finished at 26:42 greatly improving on his last time on the course. Jack McGrew ran a strong race finishing at 33:01, also beating his last time on this course. Go Cougars!

(All times for this meet are approximate based on pictures taken of the time clock while each TCS runner was crossing the finish since there was not equipment available for chip timing at this meet. GA Milesplit has not posted the results of the meet yet. The results that GA Milesplit posts will most likely be based on video of the runners finishing.)
