Cougar Track Excels at AAC Championship Meet
On March 28th, the Cottage School Track and Field team competed in the AAC Championship at Mill Springs Academy! It was a windy day with the tent almost blowing away a few times! There were cool temperatures in the morning but clear skies and sunny throughout the day with the temperature warming up as the day went on. The Cottage School Girls Team showed strength and perseverance throughout the day and came in first place overall! In the Girls 100 Meter Dash Reagan McMillin came in 3rd place at 15.59. In the Girls 200 Meter Dash, Mary-Addison and Eleanor Gaffneystone ran a strong race with Mary-Addison in 4th place at 35.49 and Eleanor right behind her in 6th place at 40.08. Mary-Addison Burch conquered the race in the Girls 400 Meter Dash coming in 1st place at 1:13.71 with Skylar Brown right behind her in 2nd place at 1:15.31. In the Girls 800 Meter Run, Madison Clark ran hard finishing in 1st place with a time of 3:06.11 and Finley Love was right behind her in 2nd place finishing with a time of 3:22.85. In the Girls 1600 Meter Run came in 1st place again with a time of 6:36.02. Finley Love also ran hard finishing in 2nd place at 7:28.20. In the Girls 3200 Meter Run, Madison Clark’s hard work in practice paid off as she ran a great race finishing in 1st place at 13:56.42! In the Girls 100 Meter Hurdles, Skylar Brown’s hard work also paid off as she expertly met the challenge finishing in 1st place at 21.31! The Cottage School Girls Team came in 2nd place in the Girls 4×100 Meter Relay with a time of 1:04.07 and took 1st place in the Girls 4×400 Meter Relay with a time of 5:22.13! In the Girls Discus event, Finley Love came in 1st place, throwing 52-04.00! Mary-Addison came in 3rd place, throwing 46-00.00! Madison Clark scored the most points for her team out of any other athletes for the Girls Teams in this meet and Finley Love scored the second most points!
The Cottage School Boys Team showed determination and ran, jumped, and threw their best yesterday with tough competition! In the Boys 100 meter dash, Alex Evans came in 6th place at 12.86 and Brendan Bullard came in 8th place at 14.06. Alex Evans ran strong in the Boys 200 Meter Dash finishing in 3rd place at 27.68 with Max Rusert right behind him finishing in 6th place at 29.41. In the Boys 400 Meter Dash, Wilson Crosbie did an amazing job finishing in 6th place with a time of 1:09.47 and William McGuire also ran a strong race coming in 8th place with a time of 1:12.03. William McGuire conquered the race in the Boys 800 Meter Run coming in 2nd Place at 2:38.12! Noah Velasco finished right behind him in 4th Place at 2:41.02! In the Boys 1600 Meter Run, William McGuire ran a great race coming in 3rd Place at 5:34.48 with Max Rusert finishing right behind him in 4th Place at 5:44.82! Jonah Lorman and Wilson Crosbie ran the Boys 3200 Meter Run with Jonah running a strong and smart race finishing in 7th Place with a time of 13:43.80 and Wilson persevering and finishing in 8th Place at 14:51.00! The Cottage School Boys Team came in 5th place in the Boys 4×100 Meter Relay seamlessly exchanging the baton as practiced and finishing at 55.91. In the Boys 4×400 Meter Relay the Cottage School Boys Team ran strong coming in 4th Place with a time of 4:42.96. In the Boys High Jump, Max Rusert came in 2nd place, jumping 4-07.00 and Wilson Crosbie came in 4th place, jumping 4-06.00! In the Boys Long Jump, Noah Velasco came in 4th place, jumping 15-08.00 and Alex Evans came in 5th place, jumping 15-04.50! Noah Velasco showed his skill in the Boys Triple Jump coming in 2nd place, jumping 35-04.00! Brendan Bullard did great in the Boys Discus and Shot Put events, coming in 2nd place in Discus at 71-02.00 and coming in 5th place in Shot Put at 26-03.00! We are so proud of our athletes and are looking forward to the Regionals Meet!
