Cougars Victorious at MSA but finish Fourth at Dominion

Cougar Athletics, Cross Country

The Cougars from The Cottage School defeated all-comers Thursday at the Mustang Invitational but fell
short in the rain and mud at Dominion on Saturday. Madison Clark ran like a gazelle earning 13th in
24:36, and Mary Addison Clark kicked hard into 32nd with a time of 30:54 for our girls’ contingency.
Ryan Gaffneystone led the lads in purple out of the box in the boys’ race and was shadowed by mate
William McGuire. McGuire overtook Gaffneystone in the chute as they placed 13th and 14th in 21:29,
and 21:30 respectively, despite having raced in oven-like temperature at MSA less than two days prior.
Max Rusert ran a gutsy race to finish in 31st at 23:49, as Noah Velasco paced himself to a 23:51 for 33rd.

Jonah Lorman strode valiantly across the magnetic carpet in 27:26 for 52nd place. Please support and
encourage these youngsters as they continue to make history with their march to excellence. Our next
meeting of athletes is at Oak Mt. Academy on September 28, with a 1:30PM departure.
