Varsity Track at MSA Meet #2

Cougar Athletics, Track

Yesterday the mighty Cougars set out to conquer the Mill Springs Academy Track meet with both boys and girls teams dominating the meet, way to go! For the girls 100 meter race, veteran Celeste Jeoffroy ran placing 6th with a time of 17.35 while upcoming Junior Lexi Harrison placed 8th with a time of 19.46. For the girls 400 race, Finley Love came dashing in landing herself a silver with a time of 1:22.17; Freshman Eleanor Gaffneystone came striding in placing 6th with a time of 1:41.54. For the 800 meters, Captain Madison Clark earned gold with a time of 3:16.94 with Freshman Hannah Katz powering to the finish placing 5th with a time of 4:06.34. For the girls 1600, Madison Clark earned gold with a time of 7:01.19 while Finley Love crushed the race earning silver with a time of 7:30.78. For the discus, Finley Love rose to the occasion tying for gold with a throw of 48-7. For the shot put, Celeste Jeoffroy received silver with a put of 17-8. Neophyte Addison Nowakowski earned 4th place with a put of 9-3.  For the girls 4×100 race, Madison Clark, Hannah Katz, Finley Love, and Celeste Jeoffroy sprinted to the finish line earning silver with a time of 1:04.01. For the 4×200 meters, Madison Clark, Hannah Katz, Eleanor Gaffneystone, and Finely Love dominated the race by earning gold with a time of 2:40.88. The lady Cougars placed 2nd overall, well done!

The boys had a great meeting last night with Junior Jack McGrew starting off strong for the boys 100 meter dash earning bronze with a time of 13.45 while Nick Elliot followed closely placing 4th with a time of 13.79. For the boys’ 200 meter dash, Jack McGrew set out to face the race earning himself a silver with a time of 31.15. For the 400 meters, newcomer Tyler Robinson came dashing in placing 4th with a time of 1:18.31 while Senior Nicholas Robson came striding in placing 5th with a time of 1:20.13. For the 800 meters, Sophomore Ryan Gaffneystone ran a hard two laps earning himself bronze with a time of 2:51.59 while Junior Noah Velasco came strong through the finish placing 5th with a time of 3:05.07. For the 1600 Noah Velasco ran a solid race earning silver with a time of 5:53.60 while Ryan Gaffneystone followed closely behind earning bronze with a time of 6:16.44. For the 3200 meters, Nicholas Robson ran with tenacity earning a silver with a time of 16.11.84 while Freshman Quique deCastro ran earnestly earning a bronze with a time of 23.40.89. For the 4×100 meters, Ryan Gaffneystone, Tyler Robinson, Jack McGrew, and Nick Elliot dashed to the finish line earning bronze with a time of 54.13. For the boys 4×400 relay, Nicholas Robson, Nick Elliot, Ryan Gaffneystone, and Eric Born landed in silver with a time of 4:48.82. For the boys long jump Nick Elliot jumped to silver with a jump of 15-7 while Tyler Robinson competed for the first time placing 5th with a jump of 10-11. For the triple jump, Noah Velasco performed exceedingly earning silver with a jump of 26-4. For the discus, Senior Aiden Misnuner won the event earning gold with a throw of 95-4 while Adam Tepper earned silver with a throw of 65-5. For the shot put, Adam Tepper earned gold with a put of 26-7 while Misnuner earned silver with a put of 25-7. For the 4×200 meter relay, Jack McGrew, Tyler Robinson, Adam Tepper, and Eric Born ran fast earning themselves bronze with a time of 2:11.74. Great job to all of the athletes for their hard work. Thank you for all of your support and we look forward to seeing everyone come out and support the Cougars as they come out to the AAC meet next Thursday to dominate. Go Cougars!!
