TCS are 6-0 after road win versus Cross Keys High School
11/16/2021: The Cottage School Cougars travelled to Atlanta, GA to take on the Cross Keys High School Indians. Each year these two schools face off, and usually the games go down to the wire however, the combination of a rebuilding year for CKHS and a heavy senior TCS class did not bode well for the home team. The Cougars were focused and hungry for another victory. They jumped on Cross Keys early and never looked back for a 49-27 win.
Senior and captain Aidan Briggs came out on fire from the tip. He scored 13 of the Cougars 19 first quarter points, hitting shots from all over the court. The team fed off his confidence and a five-point lead grew to a fifteen-point edge. By halftime Cottage held a 29-10 advantage.
The second half was no different and Cottage went on to win 49-27. The Cougar defense was spectacular, forcing several turnovers leading to baskets. Cross Keys had major issues finding open looks and because TCS moved the ball well without turning it over and blocked out, the Indians could not capitalize on Cougar mistakes.
TCS will have phase one of four end tomorrow. They host a very smart and savvy team, the Atlanta Classical Cavaliers tomorrow (11/17). Last year, ACA beat Cottage here at home so they are looking to get revenge.
