Varsity Cross County at Dominion Dash

Cougar Athletics, Cross Country

The Boys and Girls Cross Country team ran the famous Dominion Dash this past weekend with cool weather and a course full of opportunity for the Cougars success. For the girls, 8th grader Hannah Katz rose up to the challenge of competing for 71st place with a time of 34:30; way to go!  Finley Love followed closely behind, taking 73rd overall with a time of 34:31. Unfortunately due to an injury Ava Morelle could not compete; however, she did come out to cheer on her teammates! For the boys, Freshman Ryan Gaffneystone led the boys taking 37th place striding in with a time of 22:38. Noah Velasco had an excellent race by establishing a new personal record of 26:41 placing him in 91- congrats! Nathan Dunbar rounded up the boys by coming in 95th place with a time of 26:53. Unfortunately senior Camden Michaud was unable to compete; the team anticipates his comeback in competing for future races. The next meet will take place at Mill Springs Academy on Thursday the 16th; we hope to see you there cheering on our runners. Go Cougars!
