GAC Invitational 2022

Cougar Athletics, Track

Saturday, The Cottage School Cougar Track and Field teams enjoyed the splendid competition, camaraderie and hospitality provided by the Greater Atlanta Christian School at their annual invitational meeting of student-athletes. Macy Michaud kicked things into gear for the Cougars with a 19th showing in the 100m dash at 15.83. Madison Clark sprinted well around the curve in the 200m for 27th in 32.95. Finley Love garnered 24th in the 400m dash in 1:27.17 as Ava Morelle placed 25th with a 1:32.47. In the half mile (800m), Madison ran an even paced race for 18th at 3:10.39 while Finley strode across the line in 3:26.67 for 19th and Ava Morelle earned 20th in 3:48. In the 1600m run, Madison Clark placed 17th with an ever-improving performance of 6:55.71. In the throws, Macy earned 25th in her inaugural toss of the discus with a 41’05”. Macy garnered a 26th place finish for her heave of the shot at 16’03.5”.

For the boys, Drew Elliott, Jack McGrew, and Alex Yager placed 25th 27th and 28th, respectively, in 13:19, 14.03 and 14.67. In the 200m dash, Drew, and brother Nick Elliott, placed 21st and 22nd with times of 28.21 and 29.39, respectively. Alex Yager paced McGrew in the 400m dash with 18th in 1:09.82 to Jack’s 19th spot in 1:12.99. In the 800m run, Ryan Gaffneystone earned 19th in 2:38, while Noah Velasco chased him into the finish with a 2:50 for 20th as Gabe Cronin finished 21st with 3:00. In the 1600m (mile), Ryan ran 5:49 for 19th as Noah and Gabe placed 20th and 21st in 6:01 and 6:47, respectively. Ryan demonstrated grit in racing the 3200m solo in 13:08 for 18th place. Liam Walsh, Drew Elliott, Noah Velasco, and Jack McGrew raced our lone relay of the day, the 4X400m, in 4:36.29 for 10th place. In the long jump, Gabe Belden placed 22nd with a leap of 13’.00.50”. Liam Walsh fouled on all three attempts in the triple jump but is undaunted and shall return! Aiden Misnuner earned 10th in the discus with a 93’11 personal best, while Charles Young earned 23rd at 49’01”. In the boys’ shot put, Misnuner put one deep into the vectors for 26th at 26’03” as Charles put the implement 22’03’ for 27th place.
