Parkview Meeting of Athletes

Cougar Athletics, Track

On Thursday, The Cottage School Track and Field teams experienced fun, fitness, and much learning under a crisp cloudless moonlit sky at the Parkview track and field Need for Speed II. In the throws and puts, Finley Love spun the discus 31’ “for 13th, as Aiden Misnuner threw 72’5” for 15th, and Charles Young tossed one 61’ 0 for 23rd. Misnuner heaved one deep in the shot for 24th at 23’10” as Young put his best at 20’.50” for 29th, respectively.  Macy Michaud scratched in her inaugural attempt at the long jump, while Gabe Belden leapt 12’ 7” in his first foray into the horizontal jumps for 22nd place. In the vertical (high) jump, Alex Yager narrowly missed the opening height at 5’00”. Macy Michaud kicked affairs off on the track with the 100m dash of 17.20 in 100th.  Drew Elliott, Jack McGrew and Alex Yager blasted out of the blocks in the electric 100m dash for the boys in 13.49 (98th), 13.91 (118) and 14.62 (131), respectively. In the 800m run, up and coming Freshman, Madison Clark placed 21st in 3:17, Finley Love placed 24th in 3:29.22 and mate Ava Morelle earned 26th in 3:50.50. Ryan Gaffneystone leaned across the tape for 39th with a 2:42.03.  In the 200m dash, Macy Michaud placed 78th with a 33.41 as Nick Elliott, Jack McGrew and Gabe Belden earned 104th (29.19), 108th (29.67 and 112th (30.42), respectively. The 400m witnessed Finley Love garnering 45th at 1:33.29 and Ava Morelle crossing the line in 1:36.22 for 49th.  Jack McGrew and Alex Yager ran 1:04.02 for 39th and 1:11.85 for 45th, respectively.  In the coveted golden mile (1600m), Noah Velasco placed 18th with a 5:48 as Gabe Cronin ran 7:03 for 30th overall. Our next meeting of athletes will occur on Saturday as we load the buses here at 7:15AM for a 7:30AM departure to Trinity Christian School in Sharpsburg.  Thank you for your support! The stage is set.  Nothing is beyond us.  Citius, altius, fortius.
