Cougar Golf Team Wins AAC Championship Cup
4/24/23: The Cottage School Cougars Golf Team hosted the AAC Championship Tournament at Steel Canyon taking on the Howard School Hawks and Cumberland Academy Cyclones. It was a beautiful sunshine 70-degree day and if someone didn’t enjoy playing on the links today, well you shouldn’t play at all.
After 9 holes of competitive but fun golf, our very own Cougars defeated their opponents to hoist the 2023 AAC Golf Championship Cup. Braden Kramer led the group with a 46, followed by freshman phenom, Reagan McMillin’s 50, and Weston Kershner finished with a 53. Braden finished in 1st place and Reagan was 3rd overall. After the match, the trophy presentation took place in the clubhouse. AAC Co-Commissioner Richie Briggs was asked for any words; “What I loved most about today was the kid’s sportsmanship-OUTSTANDING! Oftentimes you get kids questioning/arguing who shot what on each hole, thinking kids are shaving a stroke here or there. Today, none of that happened. Matter of fact, it was the opposite. All the kids from each school asked each other during and after each hole and when kids forgot, they were heard saying, ‘oh that’s right, thank you for reminding me, I messed that one up, good catch’. It brought joy to all the coaches there and we couldn’t be prouder of the AAC and our kids!”
Go AAC and Go Cougars!
