Galloway Home Meet 2022
Yesterday, The Cottage School Cougars competed at the Galloway Home Meet in a triangular meeting with The Weber School. This meeting was historic because the Scots are closing their athletic field and seeking to build another one soon. In the 4X100m relay, our TCS boys finished third with a 52.07 (Drew Elliott, Bryce Dickerson, Gabe Belden, and Jack McGrew). In the 300m run, Madison Clark and Finley Love placed 5th and 6th respectively, with times of 57.86 and 1:11.70. On the boys’ side, Ryan Gaffneystone, Alex Yager, Gabe Belden, and Gabe Cronin earned 5th, 6th, 12th, and 13th, in 46.61, 47.90, 54.27, and 54.38, respectively. In the 100m dash, Drew Elliott leaned across the tape for 4th in 13.28, while Jack McGrew, Gabe Belden, Charles Young and Aiden Misnuner placed 11th, 12th, 14th, and 15th, respectively in 14.37, 15.10, 16.29 and 17.20. In the 800m run, Madison Clark, Finley Love and Ava Morelle earned gold, silver, and bronze, respectively with efforts of 3:23, 3:38 and 3:47. The boys in that event showed promise; these gentlemen were Noah Velasco and Ryan Gaffneystone in 7th and 9th respectively, in 2:44 and 2:51. In the coveted 1600m contest, Finley Love garnered the bronze position while Ava Morelle strode into 4th with times of 7:52 and 8:54, respectively. For the boys, Noah Velasco placed 13th in 5:51, Ryan Gaffneystone 15th in 6:14, and Gabe Cronin in 20th at 7:26. Unfortunately, while the girls had to scratch both the 4X100m relay and 4X400m relay due to insufficient numbers, the boys completed the evening with a bronze finish in 54.13. The Cougar contingency of racers were Drew Elliott, Bryce Dickerson, Jack McGrew, and Noah Velasco as anchor). Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to seeing you at the next meeting of athletes!
