Parkview “Need for Speed” All-Comers Meeting
Yesterday, The boys and girls TCS Cougar Track teams competed at the Parkview “Need for Speed” meeting of athletes and earned their stripes. Senior Nicholas Daugherty struck bronze on the podium with the likes of Pius and Parkview in the coveted 1600m (mile) at 5:18. Daugherty placed 5th in the 800m as well in 2:19. Nick Helm placed 9th in the grueling 3200m at 12:42 and 12th in the 1600m with a 6:05. Drew Elliott earned top 50 (49th) in the electric 100m dash with a 13.52. Toby Nwokedi raced to 54th overall in 14.67, put the shot for 35’11” into 9th place and tossed the discus deep into the vectors for 14th at 73’09”. Neophyte Hutch Stowe ran 32.09 in the 200m race for a 46th place. Harrison Lee ran 17.42 in the 100m dash for 55th place, leaned through the tape in the 200m event for 47th at 35.38, and put the heavy implement into the pit 14’06”, garnering 29th place. Charles Young threw the discus 49’01.5 for 25th place and put the shot 18’!0” for 28th place. Leah Maresca placed 34th in the 100m in 21.98, tossed the discus 22’02” for 6th, and concluded with a shot put of 12’02” into 7th place for the girls. The Cougars will compete in the Trinity Christian Lion Relays tomorrow, departing TCS at 7:00AM. Thank you for supporting these student-athletes as they pursue excellence.
