Cross Keys was too much for TCS with 69-25 win
11/10/2022: The Cottage School Cougars traveled to Cross Keys High School for their annual matchup with the Indians. It has been three years since CKHS has beaten TCS, but that would end tonight. Cross Keys’ athleticism and speed became a problem for the Cougars, early and often. TCS fell 69-25 in their first road game contest.
The home team jumped on the Cougars with a 20-4 first period explosion. At the break TCS took a moment for a deep breathe and it worked. Cottage minimized their mistakes in the second quarter and played CKHS evenly for the most part, losing just 15-11 in this frame. The Cougars seemed to have settled in and were confident to maybe make a run after halftime.
The Indians never allowed for that to happen as they outscored TCS 17-7 in the third and it continued to get worse for the road team as CKHS finished with a fury of offensive putbacks, ultimately defeating the Cougars 69-25.
TCS will get another opportunity with this opponent when they face each other at the Cougar Center after the New Year. The Cougar will have three straight games before the Thanksgiving break, beginning on Tuesday when they will travel to Mill Springs for an AAC contest.
