TCS Lions All Comers Meeting of Athlete
Saturday, a contingency of courageous Cottage School Cougars competed against a total of 731 student-athletes at Trinity Christian School in Sharpsburg. Despite rain and fog, our student-athletes exuded camaraderie, good sportsmanship, and cheered louder than any of the many teams in attendance!
For the girls, Madison Clark placed 10th and 22nd, respectively in the 3000m run (13:26) and 1500m run (6:26). Eleanor Gaffneystone placed 40th in the 60 m dash with a 10.97, as teammate Addison Nowakowski earned 41st at 13.09. Eleanor placed 33rd in the 200m with a 39.20, and long jumped 4’ 9” for 29th. Addison put the shot 10’4” for 28th place.
On the boys’ side, Nick Elliott placed 42nd in the 60m dash with an 8.29, as teammate Jack McGrew placed 46th at 8.41. In the 300m dash, Jack McGrew placed 30th in 46.12, while Eric Born placed 34th at 50.76. In the 600m dash, Eric Born ran a gutsy race to finish in 34th at 2:10.16. Noah Velasco raced to 5:38.39 in the 1500m for 38th overall. In the 110m High Hurdles, Nick Elliott placed 14th overall at 21.27, and Long jumped to 19th place with a 15’11” effort. Aiden Misnuner placed 6th (three points) in the discus with a toss of 97’02” and earned 34th in the shot with a put of 27’7”. The 4X100m relay squad of Misnuner, McGrew, Elliott and Velasco earned 14th in 58.78, while the 4X800m relay contingency ran 12:58.59 for top ten overall. (Those lads were Noah Velasco, Eric Born, Quique DeCastro and Jack McGrew). Our charges look forward to competing again next at Parkview High School in Lilburn on Friday, March 3, beginning at 4:00PM. Thank you for your support and encouragement!
