JV Basketball vs Alumni Recap

Basketball, Cougar Athletics
JV Boys Bball 2018

The Cottage School JV Cougars continued their winning ways on Saturday, defeating the alumni 63-53 in an exciting and high scoring contest. The JV team was unselfish throughout the game, setting season highs in both points and assists.

Unlike the defensive struggle on Friday night vs Center Academy, both teams scored early and often on Saturday afternoon. Javier Cremer got the JV Cougars started with a couple early layups. Colton Parks also knocked down a long jump shot. The JV Cougars had a tough time stopping the alumni as well, and the alumni held a slim lead at the half. Andrew Marriott, Matthew Miramontes, and Nate Dunbar put forth stellar defensive efforts, and Nick Daugherty and Toby Nwokedi dominated the paint. Alex Yager, Matthew Placide, and Austin Schwartz provided intensity and effort on both ends of the floor.

In the second half, the JV Cougars’ intensity remained high as they began to mount their second come back in as many days. Ben Gardner and Will Conroy kept up the defensive pressure. Alex Hogg, Dalton Lantz, Conner Hogue, and Kyle Kimble led the charge offensively as Bryce Dickerson continued to provide incredible support from the bench. In the end, the JV Cougars depth wore down the alumni.

The coaches were proud of the teamwork and selflessness on display Saturday. They would also like to thank the alumni who participated and visited TCS this weekend. This was the first TCS Homecoming for several members of the JV team, and it was certainly a memorable one!
