All-Comers Parkview Invite
Yesterday, despite the rain, flooding and fog, our TCS Cougars had a smashing good time learning and growing their character, fitness and durability at the Parkview Invitational. In the boys 100m dash, neophytes Kyle Kimble, Chip Payne and Nick Rice ran 12.73, 13.05 and 16.24, respectively. In the boys 200m, Kyle ran a 26.68, Alex Yager ran a 32.01 and Nick Rice ran a 33.84. In the 800m run for the boys, Nicholas Daugherty ran a 2:18.99, while frosh up-and-comer, Daniel Byman ran a 2:22. In the 1600m, Larry Orsini ran a personal best of 4:49, despite dealing with a calf injury, while Nick Daugherty ran 5:19 to Daniel Byman’ s 5:24. In the boys 4X100m relay, the team of Payne, Hendrickson, Vogel and Kimble ran a 54.50. In the girls 100m dash, Natalie Yager and Jordan McGuffey ran 17.02 and 19.90, respectively. In the 200m, Emily Daugherty ran a 33.24 while Natalie Yager ran a 39.39. In the girls 400m dash, Brandy Michelle Finnell ran 1:25.65, while Emily Daugherty ran 1:25.91 for a photo finish. In the girls 800m run, Grace Marriott ran 3:45.59. Grace ran her 1600m race in 7:55. While the meet was cut short due to flooding and pending storms, all student-athletes attending wholeheartedly supported their teammates, despite not having the privilege of competing themselves. The Cougars continue to pursue excellence next Thursday at The Scots Invitational at The Galloway School in Atlanta beginning at 4:00PM.
