TCS Staff Sends Morale Bags to U.S. National Guard Unit
Advancement Director Kim Weber’s son, Sgt. William J. Wursluk, Jr., is on active duty with the U.S. National Guard at one of the Atlanta area hospitals helping with the pandemic. He and his unit work long shifts, and at the end of the day find themselves tired, hungry, and without many options for meals.
Members of TCS staff pooled their resources together to provide morale bags–these are bags filled with items to lift the troops’ spirits–for these great service members. Items such as snacks, energy drinks, and hand sanitizer were provided to each individual. All of The Cottage School Family extends a huge “thank you” to Sgt. Wursluk and those who are serving our nation during this pandemic and every day. We wish you all continued good health and safety.
In addition to the morale bags, meals were also provided through Advancement Associate Maya Young’s project Love Your Neighbor Meals (LYNM). A special thank you to Kim’s husband Bill for preparing the chopped pork on his smoker–nothing lifts spirits like a home cooked meal! And a huge thank you to Gate City Brewing Co. in Roswell for donating 5 gallons of hand sanitizer to this unit! The support of our hometown heroes speaks to the generosity of our community.
LYNM is a community project started by Maya to provide free home cooked meals to those in need (whatever the need may be) no questions asked. Everyone struggles differently, whether it’s financially, emotionally, medically, physically, or otherwise. Some days getting food on the table is just not possible. During this difficult time, it’s important that we all practice being good neighbors and lend a helping hand.
If you need a meal, please text 678-689-8996 or email serenityscones@gmail.com. If you are not in need at this time, but would like to practice being a good neighbor, you can purchase meals for your neighbors. A $5 donation will feed one person in our community breakfast and lunch for a day. Donations can be made via Venmo @serenityscones or Zelle to 678-689-8996. Thank you for being a good neighbor!
