Parkview Need for Speed Recap

Cougar Athletics, Track

Last Friday, the mighty Track and Field Cougar team set out to Parkview’s Need for Speed where all the athletes gave a stellar performance! Starting off with the girls 60-meter dash, returning Senior Celeste Jeoffroy took 30th place with a time of 10.32 while neophyte Lexi Harrison took 31st place with a time of 12.06. For the 100-meter dash, Lexi Harrison rose up to the occasion once more placing 31st with a time of 20.73. For the 200 meter dash, Freshman Eleanor Gaffneystone ran triumphantly to the finish placing 28th with a time of 39.08. For the 300 meters, Freshman Hannah Katz strode toward the finish line placing 30th with a time of 1:04.31. For the 800 meters, Sophomore and girls captain Madison Clark finished strong placing 24th with a time of 3:03.48 while Hannah Katz raced to place 29th with a time of 3:42.06. For the 1200, Madison Clark finished placing 17th with an overall time of 4:44.93. For the 1500, Madison Clark finished the night strong placing 17th with a time of 6:14.11. For the shotput, Celeste Jeoffroy stepped up for the girl’s team placing 29th with a throw of 19 feet even. Great job, ladies!

For the men’s 60 meter dash, Senior Nick Elliot took 41st place with a time of 8.52 while Junior Jack McGrew finished behind him in 42nd place with a time of 8.80; brother to Nick Elliot, Senior Drew Elliot took 43rd place with a time of 11.39. For the 100-meter dash, Junior Jack McGrew sprinted towards the finish line placing 32nd with a time of 13.55 while Nick Elliot followed closely placing 33rd with a time of 13.61. For the 200 meters, Nick Elliot placed 28th with a time of 29.77 while neophyte Quique deCastro placed 29th with a time of 39.86. For the 300 meter dash, Jack McGrew led the Cougars placing 32nd with a time of 46.74; Sophomore Eric Born came in 33rd with a time of 56.62. Freshman Quique deCastro came in 34th with a time of 1:01.25. For the 800 meters Senior and boys captain, Gabe Cronin took 31st place with a time of 2:45.34. Eric Born placed 33rd with a time of 3:08.93. Rookie Nicholas Robson took 34th place with a time of 3:09.65. For the 1200 meters, Eric Born took the torch for the team by placing 26th with a time of 4:41.99 while Robson came closely after placing 27th with a time of 5:05.10. For the 1500 race, veteran Noah Velasco came in dashing in 25th place with a time off 5:31.34. Jack McGrew competed in the boys High Jump with a valiant effort,  but was unable to make any of the jumps. For the long jump, brothers Nick and Drew Elliot competed respectively placing 28th with a jump of 15-06.00 while Drew placed 29th with a jump of 14-09.00. For the boys discus, returner, Senior Aiden Misnuner led the boys placing 17th with a throw of 83-09.00 while Gabe Cronin placed 25th with a throw of 69-06.00 ; Junior Charles Young placed 27th with a throw of 66-01.00. For the shot put, Aiden Misnuner placed 25th with a put of 27-01.50. Senior and newcomer Adam Tepper placed 27th with a put of 26-04.75 while Charles Young placed 33rd with a put of 22-10.00. Congratulations to all the Cougars who competed. We are grateful for your support and are looking forward to the Cougars performing mightily in the next meet at Galloway on March 16. Go Cougars!!
