Close game for JV Basketball with Brandon Hall
The Cottage School JV Cougars suffered another tough loss yesterday afternoon at the Cougar Center, falling to the Brandon Hall Panthers 38-34. The game was close and competitive throughout, but Brandon Hall ultimately prevailed.
The Cougars got off to a fast start in the game, reversing their trend from the last couple contests. They shared the ball well and played stifling defense. Brandon Hall was stunned, and struggled to score at all in the second quarter. Netting only one field goal, the Panthers fell behind and were frustrated at the half. TCS 17 – 10 Brandon Hall.
The Panthers slowly clawed their way back into the game in the third quarter, as their full court pressure lead to some costly TCS turnovers. The Cougars managed to hold their own, though. Despite Brandon Hall holding a slim lead late in the 4th quarter, the match up was far from decided. Unfortunately, the Cougars were unable to make the tough shots needed to get them back into the contest, and Brandon Hall sealed the victory with some clutch free throws down the stretch.
Stats: Kyle Kimble and Conner Hogue lead the way for the Cougars offensively, with 12 and 11 points respectively.
