Cougar Harriers Win Consecutive GISA Region I-AA Championship
The Cottage School Cougars boys cross country team won the GISA I-AA region championship
In stellar fashion yesterday at St. George’s Episcopal. Senior Larry Orsini won going away with a 17:48
over an undulating, energy sapping, “slippy” trail. Nick Daugherty placed 4th in 19:35 as Camden
Michaud and mate Will Conroy earned coveted top 10 All-REGION Plaques for 6th and 10th,
respectively, in 20:03 and 20:37. Senior Shane Hendrickson kicked well into the chute for 11th at 21:38.
Braden Smith placed 18th in 22:10, and Nick Helm burst into the coveted top 20 with his 22:38.
Since our girls did not field a complete team, Grace Marriott and Alex Nebel were on a mission to
place among the top ten ladies to earn their place on the starting line at state. Bravo Zulu to both
Cougars for accomplishing their mission! Grace Marriott placed second overall with a 24:42 and Alex
Nebel earned 8th with her 26:35. The Cougars intend on racing the Big Pumpkin 5k tomorrow and
departing for state at Darton College in Albany on Friday, 01 November promptly at 3:00PM. Thank
you for your continued support of these incredible youngsters as they pursue excellence in life.
Your grateful, humble and proud coaches, Aaron Cokley and Allen McAdams
