TCS Cougars at St. George’s Episcopal Invitational

Cougar Athletics, Cross Country

While only a small contingency of High School Cougars competed among the many public and private schools yesterday at St. George’s School in Milner, they all ran their best and established personal records in the process!  Racing over hill and dell for the girls, Bri Worrell covered the cool shade covered 2.9 mile course (340 meters shy of the traditional 5,000m distance) in 25:43 for 14th among the ladies varsity competition  (Please congratulate Bri for earning Runner of the Week Award).

For the first time in Cottage School history, the boys did not field a complete team, but were led by veteran stoic seniors Nick Helm and Nick Smith.  Helm smashed his personal best by running 19:00 for 14th overall, while Smith earned 33rd at 21:40.  Up-and-coming frosh, Charlie Kish raced into the chute close behind in 22:19 for 38th.  (Charlie ran over 12 minutes faster since the inaugural meet of the season).  The Cougar harriers travel to Mill Springs Academy this Thursday for a battle with Atlanta Athletic Conference foes beginning at 4:00PM.
