JV Basketball Defeats Howard

Basketball, Cougar Athletics
JV Boys Bball 2018

The Cougars traveled to Midtown on Friday night and secured a much needed road victory over Howard 40-14. The Cougars improved their AAC record to 3-1 with the win ,which was their first on the road this season.

The contest started slowly, with both teams struggling to score in the opening minutes. The Cougars held a narrow lead throughout the first quarter until a late run allowed them some breathing room. The second quarter saw the Cougars warm up offensively. After knocking down a few 3 pointers and scoring in transition, TCS went into halftime with a comfortable 20-7 lead.

The Cougars’ defensive dominance continued in the second half. Howard struggled to score throughout the game, and TCS was able to convert their stellar defense into easy offense. The Cougars played physical defense without fouling, and they were ultimately able to coast to a 40-14 win.

Notes: Bryce Dickerson scored his first high school points with a second half layup! 3 Cougars made 3 pointers in the contest: Seth Goldberg (9 points), Alex Hogg (4 points), and Conner Hogue (12 points). Kyle Kimble and Dalton Lantz each chipped in 6 points.
