Cavelier Relay Results
Saturday, The Cottage School boys and girls track and field teams competed in the inaugural BSN and Lion and Cavalier Relays in Sharpsburg, Ga. A fun time of fitness, learning and character building was had by all. Representing the girls, Emily Daugherty placed 8th in 7.79 in the 50m dash. Jordan McGuffey placed 17th in the 300m dash with a 1:08.67. In the middle distance, 800m run, Emily placed 12th in 3:18.42, while Grace Marriott placed 15th in 3:36.45. Grace also competed in the metric equivalent of the mile and placed 16th at 6:53. In the 800m sprint medley relay, Grace, Emily, Jordan and Brandy Michelle Finnell placed 9th with a 2:46.54. Jordan jumped into 17th place in the girls’ long jump with a leap of 7’9”. Brandy Michelle threw the discus 53’9” for 12th place and putted the shot 23’0 into 7th, our highest placing event of the day for the girls.
The boys’ team witnessed Kyle Kimble, Alex Yager and Cal Kinard place 2oth, 30th and 31st at 6.95, 8.10 and 8.42, respectively in the 50m dash. The 300m dash saw Will Conroy, Alex Hogg and Colton Parks run 45.00, 48.57 and 50.59 to place in 22nd, 27th and 28th, respectively. In the 800m run, Daniel Byman, Will Conroy and Nicholas Daugherty ran 2:24, 2:25 and 2:29 to place 8th, 11th and 13th overall. In the 1500m, Daniel, Nicholas and Nathan Dunbar ran 5:04, 5:05 and 7:01, for 10th, 12th and 24th places. In the 3200m run, Camden Michaud, Nick Smith and Alex Yager, ran 12:19, 13:48 and 15:32 for 9th, 13th and 14th overall. In the 4X200m relay, our contingency of Kimble, Vogel, Payne, and Briggs ran 1:50.79 for 7th place. In the 800m sprint medley relay, our squad of Vogel, Kimble, Briggs and Michaud placed 8th in 1:54.27. In the 4X400m relay, our B group of Smith, Parks, Kimble and Vogel ran 4:47.88 for 7th. Aidan Briggs leapt into 8th place in the horizontal jump with a 17’ 4” effort. Eric Vogel Triple jumped into 12th place with a hop, step and jump of 27’ 10”. Nick Voorhees putted the shot into 23rd place with a 17’ 6” heave and tossed the discus well into the sectors with a 24’ 5” for 22nd place.
Thank you for your invaluable support and remember, the Mt. Pisgah meet (03-06-19) has been cancelled as well as the Mill Springs Academy meet (03-14-19). We are awaiting word from The Galloway School to reschedule last week’s rain out and will publish our findings as soon as they become available.
